Kate Maynor, LCSW, ASDCS
Psychotherapist
SouthPark Psychotherapy
Hi, I’m Kate (they/them).
I am passionate about working with neurodivergent individuals and members of the LGBTQIA+ community to help them create the life they want for themselves. My personal experience as a queer and neurodivergent person helps me truly understand where my clients are coming from. My own journey of being diagnosed with ADHD and Autism as an adult gives me a unique perspective as a therapist. It has helped me learn how to identify ways symptoms might be masked and motivated me to pursue additional education to better support my clients. In addition to my clinical license, I've obtained a certification as an Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist. I'm also experienced in providing ADHD and Autism assessments for adults. Whether you're looking to start your journey of self-discovery or connect with an experienced therapist to build upon the work you've already begun, I'd love to help you reach your goals.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my toddler, cat, and two dogs. I enjoy traveling, learning about different cultures, immersing myself in nature, writing, crafting, volunteering with and participating in HRC events to support the LGBTQIA+ community, and practicing yoga. My most recent accomplishment is becoming a published author. I enjoy writing children's books with a focus on emotional wellness. Additionally, I am a proud member of the National Social Work Honor Society and Golden Key International Honour Society.
What’s it like to work with me
In sessions, I tailor treatment using an eclectic approach to meet my clients' individual needs. There is no one size fits all approach in therapy. Together, we will identify and overcome any barriers preventing you from accomplishing your goals. My approach explores how relationships and environment shape our thoughts and behavior. I truly recognize the importance of providing a safe space for individuals to explore who they are and provide unconditional positive regard to clients throughout their emotional wellness journey. This includes being open to feedback from clients about what they need from their sessions, as you know yourself best. Part of my practice includes providing letters for gender-affirming care.
